The NCCT Curriculum

We will Make sure you're ready for a Career in Construction

NCCT’s Curriculum is presented to trainees in both the classroom and on NCCT construction sites. All training – no matter the setting – is designed to prepare trainees for entry into the various construction trades. During their time in the Program, students may have opportunities to work on various renovations throughout the community that are unique for each individual project.

Students learn basic skills and fundamentals in over 22 construction trades by rotating between the classroom and jobsite/workshop, learning safe work practices, tool use, and the necessary life skills for a successful construction career such as arriving to work/school early, staying drug free, teamwork.

The components of the NCCT curriculum include but are not limited to the following topics: Construction Safety, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Building Layouts, Blueprint Reading, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Glazing, Floor Covering, Landscaping, Hazard Trainings, Certifications, Roofing, Siding, and Solar. We will also incorporate Life Skills such as, teamwork, accountability, punctuality, communication, willingness to learn, and leadership training.

These goals will be achieved through a curriculum approved by the Department of Apprenticeship Standards as well as through various off site field trips throughout the program’s contracted term.
