Last week was very eventful for our Placer students! The Gold Country Fairgrounds reached out to NCCT to help remodel the new Daycare location at the fairgrounds. So of course our students were psyched and ready for some hands on training experience! They learned about: -Drywall finish -Understanding different types of textures -Painting -Installing Cabinets -Plumbing (switching out pre traps) -Electrical (Switching our light fixtures) -Finish carpentry (Installing Baseboards) -Installing the new vinyl plank floating floor system -Striping concrete forms

This week in YDF News: All students completed the on-line OSHA-10 course successfully. 10 students scored a perfect 100% on the final exam for certification! We completed all requirements and met all deadlines to move forward for the SRBX shed build competition in May. J. SPARKS and D. HARTLEY completed their 400 HOURS and GRADUATED the NCCT Program. Congratulations to our most recent NCCT Graduate Alfredo Rodriguez. Yesterday he accepted full-time work with the roofers/waterproofing Union Local 81. Alfredo has been with us for almost 4 months and while in the construction training program, he earned the following industry certifications: Flagger, Confined Spaces, CPR-First Aid, 8 Hour HAZMAT,  Traffic Control, Welding and a NCCT Graduation Certificate of Completion. He is extremely excited to go to work and provide for his family earning career wages and union package benefits!

Congratulations to our most recent Graduate and Placement Bryson Burks-Rodriguez. At just 18 years old, Bryson is currently the man of the house who helps to take care of his 2 younger siblings and mother. Bryson began attending NCCT on January 8th, 2024 and while attending NCCT, he earned his Traffic Control and Flagger Certifications. Today he received a 22 page offer letter with his pay scale, 401 k, medical, dental, vision, etc. & has accepted full time work with

Today we held a Certified Flagger class at the WUSD – NCCT campus. Instructor Tyler Wood with Ironworkers Local 118 prepared our NCCT students for the workforce with flagger and traffic safety training. This is gonna be a great addition to their resume and list of Certifications.
